Jimmy Kimmel expressed frustration over Donald Trump’s confusing statements on Iran while also expressing shock over Melania Trump’s surprise statement.
The ABC host spoke about the ongoing war in Iran that is happening “for reasons known only to Donald Trump” and how we remain unsure over the strait of Hormuz and whether it is or isn’t open.
Kimmel joked that with all the back and forth over it, “basically after all this he got us is constipation”.
Trump has been teasing a “grand reopening” as well as a possible business partnership with Iran “which makes no sense”.
Kimmel joked that “he’ll put it on his vision board and will it to be true” before moving on to his threats on social media teasing the military’s “next conquest”.
“We’re doing this again?” Kimmel asked with exasperation while joking that “he talks about war like he’s bragging about women with Billy Bush”.
Trump also posted that “America is back” to which Kimmel quipped: “Just like the McRib and available for a limited time.”
He said it was “like having a Magic 8 Ball as president”.
Peace negotiations will be taking place this weekend in Pakistan involving JD Vance and Jared Kushner. “Trump sent Jared so he could have some alone time with Ivanka over the weekend,” he joked.
Meanwhile, Trump’s approval rating is “somewhere between Bill Cosby and strangers clipping their toenails in public”, with 56% of Americans disapproving and 7% not sure. “I don’t know who those people are but they need to get their act together,” Kimmel said.
There was also a “big surprise from the White House today even for Donald Trump”, as Melania appeared for a press conference with “a doozy of a prepared statement”.
Kimmel asked, “why is this happening today?” as he detailed how Melania decided to talk about her reported ties to Jeffrey Epstein as her husband tried to “bomb” the story out of the headlines.
“She must really hate him, I don’t know how else to explain it,” Kimmel said.
Trump was called and asked about the statement but told a reporter he had no idea she was making it. Kimmel said it “shows you just how smoothly things are running over there”.
Melania claimed not to know Epstein outside parties and social circles despite Kimmel reminding viewers that she was in a photograph at his house. “Maybe this is the photo that came with the frame,” he asked.
Kimmel called it all “quite the plot twist”.
