Budapest, Hungary
Hungarians take part in Budapest Pride. Early in 2025, Hungary passed a law restricting the freedom of assembly for LGBTQ+ people by connecting it to a previous law from 2021 prohibiting the public portrayal to children of ‘divergence from self-identity corresponding to sex at birth, sex change or homosexuality’. Consequently, events such as Pride marches are illegal in the country. The LGBTQ+ community is defying the ban and holding its Pride event on the streets of Budapest
